Shahid Afridi Foundation is honored to announce the appointment of Mufti Ibrahim Essa as it’s Shariah Advisor. We welcome him into our Global SAF Family.
Mufti Ibrahim Essa is a Shariah scholar, qualified from Jamiah Darul Uloom, Karachi. He would be responsible for the formalization of charity and zakat policies & the Shariah mechanism of SAF activities.
Mufti Ibrahim enjoys a sound reputation in religious quarters and has vast working experience as Shariah Advisor of several companies. He has been associated with EY Ford Rhodes, ORIX Leasing, EFU Takaful and many charitable organizations including The Indus Hospital, TCF, LRBT and others.
SAF regular food drive for homeless and needy in the United States. We have collaborated with ICNA Relief for our food drives in the USA to provide a meal to those who can’t afford it easily. SAF has been working globally on all scales to support the people in need.
As part of its ‘Own A Brick’ campaign to build the medical center, Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) in collaboration with the Shahid Afridi Foundation plans to organize an event to raise awareness among the community. The main idea of this campaign in the cover the costs of the medical center by encouraging the idea of ‘owning a brick’ (buying a single brick for 1000 Dirhams) and getting a 10-year membership of the association.
Rohingya and its current state politically, socially and economically has left most of the world in despair. Where many states and people are reserved in being a helping hand to the those who are now destitute and looking for refuge. Keeping in mind the situation of our fellow Muslims in Rohingya and the persecutions they are facing, Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF) and Baitussalam Welfare Trust (BWT) join hands to support and provide relief for these people.
Keeping with the spirit of independence, SAF decided to add colors at the venue of Mass Communication Department (MCD), University of Karachi. The strategic partnership of SAF with MCD for its infrastructure development began earlier this year and the revamped building is a good manifestation of the organization’s efforts in this regard. SAF looks forward to such vibrant youth that can bring positive reforms in the society and volunteer welfare work for such organizations.
Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF) hosted an exclusive Fundraising Event on 30th July 2017 at Chak89 in Mitcham, London. The event was aimed at raising funds for the rapidly expanding operations of the foundation in Pakistan and also on the international basis. With an evening completely packed with excitement and entertainment, delicious 3-course meals, a detailed Questions and Answers session with the one and only Shahid Afridi himself, the night was a complete success.
The ‘own a brick campaign’ was initiated to encourage people to own a share of 12,000 bricks that will ultimately result in building the world’s largest community center for overseas Pakistanis. SAF had taken responsibility for raising 1000 bricks to build a ‘health and fitness center’ at Pakistan’s center that will be named after the foundation. The community center will be a non-profit center providing facilities at affordable cost.
SAF had been trying to help the Syrian community despite dangerous and unpredictable security situation, which proved to provide many obstacles when trying to access the refugees. However, despite these impossible circumstances our team was able to find a solution through intermediaries whom we used to donate supplies directly to the refugees from Aleppo.
When it comes to ending poverty in Pakistan, the major obstacle to be considered is the youth unemployment in urban and rural areas. The high growth rate of population is one major cause of unemployment and lack of opportunities is a direct result of reluctant investors due to political turmoil.
