The ‘own a brick campaign’ was initiated to encourage people to own a share of 12,000 bricks that will ultimately result in building the world’s largest community center for overseas Pakistanis. SAF had taken responsibility for raising 1000 bricks to build a ‘health and fitness center’ at Pakistan’s center that will be named after the foundation. The community center will be a non-profit center providing facilities at affordable cost.
SAF had been trying to help the Syrian community despite dangerous and unpredictable security situation, which proved to provide many obstacles when trying to access the refugees. However, despite these impossible circumstances our team was able to find a solution through intermediaries whom we used to donate supplies directly to the refugees from Aleppo.
When it comes to ending poverty in Pakistan, the major obstacle to be considered is the youth unemployment in urban and rural areas. The high growth rate of population is one major cause of unemployment and lack of opportunities is a direct result of reluctant investors due to political turmoil.
