SAF’s performance paramount – NGO DAY

In February 2020, out of all the 40 nominees, SAF won the award for best stall and received a certificate of appreciation

For all the efforts under its respective banner of Health, Education, and Water.
The event was graced by nearly 400+ people which included Head of Delegation Turkish Red Cross, Mr. Ibrahim Carlos C.Clavijo, Director-General NCRD (Govt) Mr. Israr Ahmed, Federal Minister of Climate Change, and advisor to the P.M, Mr. Malik Amin Aslam & Mr.Shafqat Mahmood, Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training.
Many of the event attendants also received Lala Nation 10 jerseys during the ceremony.

It has not only managed to create awareness and pontificate on societal affairs but has also instilled positive hopes amongst many.

SAF Supports PIA 8303 Plane Crash Affectees

Pakistan International Airlines Flight 8303 was a scheduled domestic flight from Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore to Jinnah International Airport in Karachi Pakistan

97 passengers were killed and 21 homes were damaged due to the crash of Pakistan International Airlines Flight PK-8303 domestic flight from Lahore to Karachi. SAF has financially supported the families of the plane crash and on-ground affectees whose homes were damaged

  • 97 families of the crash were given financial assistance to restart their lives and look forward to a brighter future.
  • 21 households were supported to rebuild their homes damaged due to the crash.


Funds to support the affectees were raised with the support of Give Back Pakistan through Launchgood.com.  We are grateful to donors and supporters who have ensured a Hope-Not Out future.

In this effort, we have secured funding of US$ 80,000 which will be utilized towards support to the affected residents of Jinnah Gardens (Model Colony), who were left homeless and devastated due to this plane crash of unfortunate PIA flight PK8303. More details to follow after we have worked through the details with authorities and affectees in the incident.

Sydney Cricket League Partnership

Sydney Cricket League (SCL) is the most sought after and much-awaited ‘Multicultural T20 Cricket Championship’ in Sydney, New South Wales.

SCL caters to 800 players who possess various cultural backgrounds from countries such as Australia, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Afghanistan.

It is pertinent to mention here that SCL is T20 league information with all the ICC rules and regulations. It evolves around neutral umpiring and grand prizes for all the athletes.

Owing to the partnership, SCL promoted SAF in 2 tournaments that were held during the summer season. The former showcased SAF branding elements on players T-Shirts, boundary flags, electronic stumps, media walls, website and social media channels.

SCL also agreed upon supporting extended ration drives for a time-span of 6 months by donating a certain amount of registration fee to SAF, by collecting donations from spectators at cricket grounds and encouraging sponsors to donate for SAF causes.

SAF aspires to build a long-term association with the cricket community in Australia.

COVID19 Local Community Support (Australia)

Ever since Covid-19 immersed, SAF Australia initiated its ‘Local Community Support’ program to assist people in Sydney from

Ever since Covid-19 immersed, SAF Australia initiated its ‘Local Community Support’ program to assist people in Sydney from diverse backgrounds with staple food & grocery items, medicines, and other basic amenities such as winter clothing & blankets during the deadly pandemic. The affectees were as follows:

  • International Students
  • Deserving Families
  • Sick and Elderly

Owing to SAF Australia’s support program, it managed to cater many vulnerable families and individuals specifically in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and Hobart.
SAF donated basic amenities such as blankets, grocery gift cards, and Chemist gift cards to the CC Community Kitchen so they could then be dispatched to the most deserving people impacted by Covid-19.

Shahid Afridi Foundation’s team paid a visit to the NSW Rural Fire Services Headquarters (Penrith) where the RPS officials apprised SAF’s team regarding the state of bushfire in NSW.

SAF Australia continued to coordinate with RFS. Moreover, SAF Australia also donated drinking water and other essential items that were needed at that point in time to the victims of the calamitous fire to ensure together it’s Hope Not Out for everyone in Australia.
SAF Australia continued to render support to the bushfire victims during their hardships and rough patch in life.

Shahid Afridi Foundation Australia Chapter was inaugurated by the First Muslim Female Senator in Australian Parliament namely, Mehreen Faruqi and Council General of Pakistan, Abdul Majid Yousfani.

SAF Australia Country Director Syed Atif Faheem shed light on SAF’s projects that would help uplift the quality of lives of the underprivileged communities. He also shared future plans of the organizations.

SAF’s unflagging efforts were acclaimed by both members during the inauguration. They also affirmed their support towards SAF’s future projects.
Moreover, the inauguration event was also graced by representatives from the Pakistani Business Community, Fans of Shahid Afridi Foundation Official, Volunteers and Media personalities.

Ramadan Food Drive

During the month of Ramadan in 2019, SAF Australia organized a full-fledged ‘Food Drive’ that lasted for 4 weeks

During the month of Ramadan in 2019, SAF Australia organized a full-fledged ‘Food Drive’ that lasted for 4 weeks in 2 major cities of Australia, namely; Sydney and Melbourne.
There were food hampers that were packed and distributed amongst countless refugees, single-mothers and people inflicted from deadly ailments. This activity was particularly done for the welfare of deprived communities.

Apart from children and volunteers who showed up and participated impeccably in the food-packing activity, SAF also extended special gratitude towards Mr.Atif Faheem, Country Director, SAF Australia and his family for cultivating ‘hope’ amid communities by being a part of this charitable cause during such taxing times only to ensure it’s Hope Not Out for everyone alike.
